The Chairman (Vic Burt) thanked everyone for attending.
He then gave a brief outline of the VRA/VRSG events over the past year. How we had, thanks to the LVT monies returned to the service charge in 2005 from 2003 and 2004.Details of all LVT issues can be found on the page relating to LVT.Also monies returned for the removal of the taxi office that was Caseacres property and not Rowner Estates and should not therefore have been added to the service charge.
Vic then thanked Joan Hussey for all her help in having the £20,000 removed from 2006 service for water pumps. Joan had worked tirelessly with Portsmouth water to resolve the low water pressure problem.
The Chairman went on talk of our failed application for a new manager in 2005. This was due to the uncooperativeness of LPL. Although we do wonder exactly why LPL fought so hard to keep the management of an estate which according to them is always playing "catch up" with no money in the account. And fight they did.
Vic then thanked Joan Hussey, Maggie Hammond and Linda Bell who worked hard supplementing the legal fund by doing car boot sales and raffles.
Vic the spoke of our meetings this year with LPL all details which are to found on this web site.
Vic then gave a statement of the finances of both the VRA and VRSG. Stating that the money in VRSG was for the fighting fund only. That had been made clear with our legal rep in 2004.
Vic then went on to say how both he and his wife Sandra had been involved in both the VRA and the VRSG for almost 5 years; that we had been very successful in having monies returned to the service charge after each LVT. How he and Sandra had spent many hours dealing with the many issues involved with the VRA/VRSG. Therefore neither he nor Sandra would be standing for re election. Vic went on to say that he thought it was time for new blood.
Vic thanked the outgoing committee.
